Weather Report 2009-2010
As someone who regularly tunes into the ebbs and flows of energetic patterns,
I have found a remarkable consistency in the information coming from a wide variety of sources about the times in which we
live. Wisdom and symbols from astrology, indigenous ancient prophecy, the Mayan Calendar, modern science, and the planet itself to name a few, are all presenting us with the same message: change or be
changed.
This message has been with us for awhile now but the stakes are rising. All indications point to a sizable uptick in the frequency and intensity of shocks
and disruptions over the next 2 years as the
process of breakdown allows us
to break through to higher ground. The road ahead will be bumpy, disruptive and exhilarating as excessive collective waste material makes its way down
the drain toward
the cosmic treatment plant. We are being asked to let go of what has become toxic and non-essential. By clearing out the dead wood, we are making room for new visions and innovations that better
reflect the needs
of where we are now and where we are heading rather than where we were decades ago. To have faith in the ultimate benefit of these shake-ups is to remember that by the laws of nature,
nothing will be destroyed that is an essential element for the survival of the whole world organism.
The sources above provide us with valuable maps, tools and suggestions about the terrain we are in so that we can be aligned with rather than unpleasantly surprised by the forces of growth and
evolution at work. Because the times
are intensifying at an astonishing pace, it may be helpful to check the map
again to get our bearings.
Where we are now
One year into our collective upgrade from one value system to another, we
have seen very significant things occur, two of which being the election of Barack Obama to the presidency of the US and the
swift, ruthless contraction
of the global economy. As a result of this downturn, countless people
worldwide have lost jobs, homes, retirement incomes and their sources of security. Several states in
the US are bankrupt and can't make payroll. Throw
a dart at any of the major infrastructures in this country and you will hit a perilously fragile system on life support. The economic systems that were
put
in place decades ago were designed to meet the needs of a less complex,
less populated world.
Despite the best efforts of many well intended financial wizards, the greed, excess and abuse of those systems by corrupt individuals in positions of
power has led us to our current state of affairs.
The old systems are clearly unsustainable and throwing money at them is not the answer. There is still denial and delusion out there about this and things will continue to breakdown and fail until the
decision makers in a position to make significant changes, move in a completely different direction. Unfortunately the economic picture
is likely to worsen for awhile before it gets better.
We have seen numerous examples of the tight and tense negotiations between our history and our future. Many younger souls, like the "tea party" crowd in
this country, are aware that their value system
is going extinct and they are so afraid of loosing their voice and relevancy that they are literally shouting to be heard. "We want our America back" is their way of saying "Where do we fit in this new
mature souled world? Stop. Let's go back. Things are moving too fast for us." Emotionally their dream of a good American life is back in the 1950's and early 1960's where they understood the rules of
a simpler game. Toddler souls feel more comfortable with iron fisted leadership and are having real trouble comprehending a more complex, sophisticated character like Obama's, even though he is a
happily married, church going family man just like many
of them. Eventually we will have to find a positive way to include this staunchly conservative tribe into the fabric of a new world, and they
will have to learn to mind their manners which for now they haven't.
Certainly, there is hope that what will emerge out of the tensions of this time will produce greater freedoms, tolerance, peace and prosperity. However,
what may materialize in the meantime will be
both progressive and
regressive, tolerant and intolerant, peaceful and disruptive as polarities grow stronger. What we are currently undergoing is a gigantic societal bottleneck where solutions of the
past and solutions for the future are entering into a highly dynamic and highly chaotic relationship.
Storm Warnings: November 2009-August 2010
This period in the run up to the years 2011-12 represents a turning point in which economic, cultural, and political difficulties of the last decades come to a head and demand resolution. According to
the astrological symbols of late October through August of 2010, we are entering a perfect storm of transformation that some refer to as a relatively short but potent death/rebirth sequence. The
energies suggest a concentrated period of personal and collective evolution triggered by sudden events that apply more pressure to already strained situations. No one can predict what those events will
be but
the stage is set and ready for the opening curtain.

At the very least, this period is designed to cut the dead wood from any and all institutions that have developed pockets of unsustainable decay. Governments, corporations and all other patriarchal
hierarchies will be closely screened to asses their viability. There will likely be further exposure of corruption in persons and agencies that play the role of the authority figure: fathers,
mayors,
tribal elders, CEO's, presidents, patriarchal gods. This gives way to more global acceptance of women in positions of leadership as the negative aspects of the paternal archetype is purged.
Out of this alchemical vessel of 2010 should arise significantly original and unprecedented social political movements and reform. Forward looking individuals will be prompted to act from the core of
their being. The will of
the citizenry will no longer be like passive sheep, but boldly pro-active, galvanizing into like minded, self-organizing collectives of mature and responsible social reformers.
The adolescent infighting that afflicts so many progressive movements has the chance here to effect change suddenly
and unanimously.
How to best work with the influences
The most skillful way to regard these probabilities is to view them as a necessary and inevitable consequence of our current trajectory and as an opportunity for a collective psycho-spiritual
death/rebirth, which we as a species must undergo in order to evolve. Remember that perilous times bring forward healing agents in the same way that a wound galvanizes white blood cells.
From the
spiritual perspective, any given civilization manifests the very individuals that meet the demands of that group's evolution. Right now the planet is in need of wisdom and vision, so we are getting
visionaries and older souls coming out of hiding bearing the ancient wisdom of their traditions. The earth itself is exposing more power spots, quartz crystals and inter-dimensional portals as its
surface shifts with climate change. Help is always available at exactly the right moment, all the time.
During the months ahead it will be helpful to
- Be consistent and reliable in dealing with others.
- Be mindful about overextending your resources.
- Stay away from conflict.
- Tackle one objective at a time.
- Hold the Big Picture in mind.
- Keep things simple.
Optimally used, our individual courage and fearlessness will provide those around us with the strength and tenacity to usher in this period of transformation in a constructive way. May we all prepare
ourselves to act
as midwives to the process of change by remaining clear, focused and
open hearted.
