This upcoming year will be one of big, powerful change. There are no half-way measures in 2008: opportunities and challenges unfold on a large, grand scale. It's an all or nothing energy: big risks, big choices, big consequences. Unlike 2007 which felt out of focus and fluid, this year will be sharp-focused and more solid. Imagine moving from a cramped studio apartment into a spacious 5 bedroom home with basement and balconies, or trading in your sub-compact car for an extended cab Winnebago. The challenge is knowing what to fill the house with and getting used to driving a huge mobile home. In both cases it requires focus, discipline and a big pictured plan of action.

We are being asked at the collective level to start fresh and move forward in a big way, with integrity, mastery and inspiration.

The big energy of the year will affect all levels of experience as collectively we are wanting to grow and expand out of containers that are too small, too corrupted, or out of date. It's a decisive time of clarity where bold and heroic measures will be taken to keep things on track. Any attempt to keep something old and outdated afloat, through force of habit or fear of change, is likely to fail in an energy like this.

Globally, we will be looking closely at issues of leadership and how things are being governed. This won't be a good year for corrupt leaders or highly dysfunctional systems. Multinational corporations, large organizations and governments bloated with excess will need to return to their roots or die a natural death. We have seen this occur in the mortgage industry already but it's the tip of the iceberg.

Events during the year will draw people together into communities which organize themselves around common causes and shared values. Small, dedicated groups will have the power to affect big change and accomplish a great deal throughout the world community. In an election year here in the US, expect to see record numbers of voter turnout due to the efforts of these small groups.

At the personal level, we have the opportunity to discover our own power and authority by relying more on our instincts and trusting our intuition to a greater degree. We will be asking the question "How is my own life being governed?" Is it from spirit or false personality? We have the opportunity for much more light and energy to flow through us by listening to the brilliant whisperings from within. Personal power increases by seeking out environments, people and situations that raise, rather than lower our frequency.

Any plan or project for self-improvement that floundered in 2007 will have much more traction this year. Health issues, diet and exercise goals, or any other undertaking to feel better will have the most success with a support community, timeline, and guiding focus of inspiration to sustain the effort.
